Ace + [incr tsdb()]

In the Makefile of ACE, two lines called my attention:

  3 # comment out these two lines if you don't want to include [incr tsdb()] support
      4 DELPHIN_CFLAGS=-isystem ${LOGONROOT}/lingo/lkb/include -DTSDB
      5 DELPHIN_LIBS=-L ${LOGONROOT}/lingo/lkb/lib/linux.x86.64 -Wl,-Bstatic -litsdb -lpvm3 -Wl,-Bdynamic

What are the implications in ACE for not supporting [incr tsdb()]?

This functionality is for integration with [incr tsdb()] in the sense that [incr tsdb()] can call out to ACE to perform parsing and generation. You do that by defining an appropriate CPU entry in $LOGONROOT/dot.tsdbrc and then instructing [incr tsdb()] to use it. I’m not sure what the current state of play is regarding whether there any ACE-backed entries in the default LOGON distribution.

If you don’t use ACE through the LOGON parse script or through the [incr tsdb()] podium, then you don’t need that support. Otherwise, you do.
