Questionnaire design: fronting questions and "in-situ"

This question is about questionnaire design.

I am wondering if I should have the “in-situ” option explicitly (as in the screenshot below) or implicitly (if the user does not choose a fronting strategy, that means the question phrases are “in-situ”). Having it explicit seems to better follow the literature’s way of talking about it however having it implicit might be better from the engineering perspective (I am not sure)?

I think it’s better to have the in situ option (and therefore make the question obligatory, if the user is giving specifications for wh questions at all).

I also (still) think that the “only choose this if” parentheticals should be shifted to validation and not part of the visible text.

I know :). Just haven’t got to it yet…
